VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena are committed to ensuring the safety of its fans. That includes providing an atmosphere that is free from harassment or behavior that would be considered inappropriate for the family friendly environment of the event. By attending VIECC or VCA, all fans are bound to respect and agree to the event’s behavioral guideline contained below. The behavioral guideline may be subject to change and failure to comply with any aspect of the behavioral guidelines is grounds from ejection from the event as well as future bans. The VIECC or VCA staff has sole discretion in determining whether the guideline has been followed. Additionally, AEE (Austrian Exhibitions Experts) expect all visitors, exhibitors and other attendees to comply with the Austrian laws.
Anti-Harassment
Austrian Exhibition Experts GmbH (AEE) as the organizer of VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for harassment of any kind, including but not limited to:
• Stalking
• offensive verbal comments
• harassing or non-consensual photography or recording
• unwelcome physical attention
• initmidation
• physical assault and/or battery
• sustained disruption of panels, signings and other events
• inappropriate physical contact
• lewd behavior
In relation to, but not limited to:
• national origin
• gender identity
• sexual orientation
• body size
• appearance
• citizenship
• color
• gender
• gender presentation
• age
• disability
• religion
• pregnancy
If a person engages in harassing behavior, VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena Staff will take prompt action in any form they deem appropriate, including expulsion from VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena with no refund. Our policy applies to EVERYONE at the convention. Exhibitors, fans (attendees), speakers, guests, professionals, press, staff, volunteers and security are all subject to our anti-harassment policy and will be held to the same standards and disciplinary action.
Anyone can report harassment. If someone’s behavior has made you uncomfortable, or if you witness the same happening to someone else, you should immediately contact VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena Staff, Security Team or a Crew Member. You may also come to VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena information booth.
If necessary, we will contact local law enforcement, provide escort, offer a safe place or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to make sure they feel safe for the rest of VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena. Remember: Cosplay is not consent. Keep your hands to yourself. If you would like to take a picture with or of another visitor, always ask first and respect that person’s right to say no. When at VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena, be respectful, be nice, be cool and be kind to each other.

As fans ourselves, we understand the importance of creating a safe space for everyone who attends VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena.
ID-Control
Note that certain panels offer 18+ years content. Therefore, get your wristband at the badge exchange with your age verification where applicable. Also for certain ticket categories (Child, Youth) an ID-Control is necessary, otherwise we have to charge to amount up to the value of an Adult Ticket..
Weapons Policy
All weapons must be checked by VIECC or VCA staff upon entering the event. There will be a Weapons Control Check Station located at the front entrance of the show. All weapons deemed unsafe by VIECC or VCA security will not be allowed into the event. In case your weapon is not allowed to the show floor, you can leave it without charge at the Weapons Control Check Station and get it back when leaving the convention.
Misuse of any prop weapon, such as swinging it in a public area or causing a hazard to attendees, will result in the weapon or prop being deemed unsafe for the convention. If a weapon or prop is deemed unsafe for the event due to misuse, it must be removed.
The following items are forbidden at VIECC and VCA:
• Functional firearms (including air soft guns, BB guns, cap guns, paintball guns and pellet guns)
• Electric current emitting devices (including tasers) • Acoustic or light emitting anti-personal devices
• Laser pointers with an accessible emission limit of greater than 1mW
• Realistic replica firearms (including reproduction, fake or toy guns that can be confused for functional firearms)
• Functional projectile weapons (including blow guns, crossbows, long bows, silly string, slingshots, water balloons and water guns)
• Sharpened metal-bladed weapons (including axes, daggers, hatches, knives, kunai, shuriken, swords, sword canes and switch blades)
• Explosives (including firecrackers and fireworks)
• Chemical weapons (including mace and pepper spray)
• Blunt weapons (including brass knuckles, clubs, extendable batons and nunchaku)
• Concealed weapons
• Hard prop weapons (including props made of metal, fiberglass and glass
Please note, VIECC or VCA staff have sole discretion in any matter that it believes may affect public safety or be important to protect the integrity of the event.
Note: For VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena, any prop that on first glance resembles a real weapon (imitation) must be checked at the weapons check desk upon entry to the show, to be checked and tagged by VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena staff
Basically, use best judgment and common sense and always ask a VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena staff member for clarification.
Costuming / Clothing
VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena are family-friendly events and as such there is an expectation of an appropriate level of dress, including those in costume.
Costumes or clothing must not be overly revealing, must not be overtly sexual or include inappropriate printed language or other elements that would otherwise contravene the behavioral guidelines. If clothes or costumes are deemed unacceptably revealing or otherwise
inappropriate, an attendee must change clothes or modify a costume so that it is deemed acceptable by staff.
We are committed to legal requirements and actively inform our visitors that covered faces are allowed within the framework of VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena and within venue Messe Wien. However, during the journey and departure you are not allowed due to the current legal situation (except for FFP2 masks – at the moment).
VIECC and VCA reserves the right to ask any attendee to remove any costuming face covering, mask or headwear if necessary, for the purposes of identification. Exceptions will be made for headwear or other clothing of a religious nature. Failure to comply with this will result in removal from the event.
Inappropriate Signage
Inappropriate signage at VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena will not be tolerated. Any signage deemed unacceptable by show staff must be modified. Inappropriate signage includes, but is not limited to crude language, signs that solicit or advertise business or services that have not been agreed to in writing with VIECC and VCA. Failure to comply will result in removal from the event.
Attendance is at your own risk
Attendance at VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena is at your own risk and by entering VIECC Vienna Comic Con and VCA Vienna Challengers Arena you agree not to hold its organizer Austrian Exhibition Experts GmbH (AEE), partners, subsidiaries or parent companies liable for any damage or distress incurred at a VIECC Vienna Comic Con or VCA Vienna Challengers Arena events.
Responsibilities for lost / theft
Austrian Exhibition Experts GmbH (AEE) is not responsible for any loss or theft of property during a VIECC or VCA event. It is the responsibility of any fan who incurs a loss to notify AEE and the police of property loss or theft as soon as possible.
Remediation
Austrian Exhibition Experts GmbH (AEE) reserves the right to change elements of the behavioral guidelines and to make interpretations of the conditions listed above. Austrian Exhibition Experts GmbH (AEE) will also be the final judge in all disputes, particularly in cases where a fan’s safety may be at risk. AEE reserves the right to provide the appropriate remediation as a result of any breach of this behavioral guideline, including but not limited to expulsion from the event, referral to the authorities and future bans.
